Measuring what a lifetime means and interpreting the statement "become who you truly are" will vary from individual to individual. For us here at LIWI68, a lifetime cannot be measured by the years one lives. Many individuals have had their life cut short but still managed to influence others and leave their "MARK" on this world.

Sadly, we often don't recognize or acknowledge these individuals until they have passed away.

2017 brought many blessings for us but with LIFE, it also brought many obstacles and tragedies. The world lost many beautiful souls this year. One of those souls, recently laid to rest and honored on our website, was our dear brother Nijah Duncan. Nijah lived his life with no regrets. Whatever he wanted to pursue, he pursued and acheived. His passion to succeed and provide a better life for himself and his family constantly motivated him.

Although only 35, Nijah's influence and "MARK" will live on through his sons, family, friends and any other individuals who were blessed to know and speak to him.

Reflecting on Nijah's passing and the way he lived his life provides a simple rule for all of us to live by: Live a purposeful life and follow your passions. When we live a passion filled life, we are living a life with purpose.

There is no exact blueprint for living ones LIFE. No two roads are ever the same.

Ones LEGACY originates at birth and is lengthened or shortened upon God's will. We are all blessed with the ability to influence others and make a difference in this world. How we choose to influence and bring about that change is solely up to us and within our control.

We hear at LIWI were blessed to recognize our talents and our ability to influence others and bring about the change we want to see in this world.

Through our involvement within the community working with organizations like R.I.S.E. Edutainment or educating and empowering students through media literacy programs within local schools, we are contributing and doing our part to bring about that CHANGE.

We have built an incredible fan base locally and all over the world based on our consistent goal and passion to create a brand that represents an individual’s journey to strive for their passions, dreams, and desires. Our brand is not just a brand. It's our lifestyle. Built on the concept EDUCATE, EMPOWER AND UNITE, we will continue to do our part.

One of our goals for 2018 is to acknowledge the life stories of local members of our community. Rather than acknowledging their accomplishments and influences post death, we will be  acknowledging their accomplishments thus far and share their unique stories.

Ones LEGACY is merely ones life stories. Our LEGACY is LIVE IT WEAR IT (LIWI). By sharing our stories along with various others we are preserving their LEGACY.

In closing, we would like to share another powerful quote. George Washington Carver once said, “No individual has any right to come into the world and go out of it without leaving behind him distinct and legitimate reasons for having passed through it.”

No matter what we go through in life stick to your principles and goals. Don't let anything deter you or throw you off your continued journey. Your possibilities are great. Tests and struggles are meant to make us stronger. Focus on evaluating your values. When you evaluate your values and make it part of your character a part of your lifestyle, it will be a lot easier to achieve your goals.

We have all been given special gifts and the possibilities of greatness. We have to take advantage of every second. We should be thinking about what type of LEGACY we want to CREATE and leave. Think about this everyday and work towards leaving this world better than you found it.
